It would be great if he threw in a few key highlights from games........perhaps show them on the screen while he commentates.

Totally agree it would be neat. But I think it would also get insanely time consuming as I'd have to blend the video streams on iMovie or within Creative Suite or similar programming. (as opposed to just running FaceTime and sending it straight to YouTube as I'm doing now.) One of the motivations to try the video was that it allowed me to summarize the league faster than the old write-ups took to put together (another motivation was, admittedly, pandemic-related boredom combined with undisclosed amounts of alcohol...) and I'd been struggling to get those out in recent weeks. Maybe I'll sit down here at some point and see what the difference in assembly time is.

I don't know enough about Twitch to know if there's something that could be done there. My understanding is its basically where the gamers go to show off their livestreams and X-Box "skillz," which might make it useful for showing video of, say, the league championship game while doing a PBP and color commentary broadcast with it. But I also don't know if it stores video or is "just" a livestream site...and I don't see too many on the mainland being awake right after our league sims to catch livestream action of the title game as soon as it becomes available.

Nah you wouldnt need to do that. If a laptop is your video camera, then you could have your phone loaded with a few plays on a few different pages and just show your phone. Or better yet, if you are using your phone to film your show, then you could have several tabs loaded up ready to play on your laptop. You could just run a few plays of importance or you could pick one great game changing highlight for each game and just run them one at a time as you go. We could see the highlights on y our laptop. I dont know... just an idea ;)

If im not mistaken twitch has a video section if you go to someones profile where you can see previous broadcasts, ive never live streamed anything but ive used twitch plenty of times since it was decently big when i was in my teenage years haha (im now 2 months into my 22nd year on this earth)... but you might have to fiddle around with some test streams to find a way to set up your mic, volume, and camera.

I know it would take time but record on Zoom.

Hit screen share.

Have different tabs open with the plays loaded. As you talk about the plays hit that tab and it should record everything on your screen.

Maybe?

I think he is looking for something that requires almost no extra time to prepare or set up. Simple, but would do the same job as fancy software.

RedNu is looking at the laptop screen as he commentates on each game during his show. Well he is recording the show with that laptop too right? Now what if he made it simple by recording the show with a phone or another laptop. Then on the original laptop he can have as many highlight plays open and ready as he wants in separate tabs or windows. Another window can be open on the main league homepage so he can easily go through each score with us.

So when he shows a highlight, it can be brought up on full screen view on the laptop and Mrs. Red or he himself even can hold the phone close to laptop for a highlight....then focus can be brought back to him when he is not playing a highlight. Yes it is very simple, crude, but very effective and would do the same job. The important thing here is it would take almost no extra time e to prepare.

Sorry gang, no video tonight...too much stuff hitting in the classes I teach that I have to deal with. Will try and sneak one in tomorrow, but can't promise since this is usually the "calm" time.

Quick work-abbreviated shout-outs to Tallahassee for qualifying for the post-season and, along with Coos Bay, continuing the undefeated march through 11 weeks.

Props to Mt. Washington for taking out one of the league's hotter teams in the Geechee.

And if anyone is friends off-site with Wolfpax, can you shoot a message and make sure that all is well please. The GM of the Wampas has not logged in for 2+ weeks according to the time stamp message for the user name and hasn't responded to my on-site message.
