I really like the No WR at the TE positions to get the mismatches, but I don't mind the WR switching to the RB position, or vice versa, as long as we actually switch their positions to the pertaining position. Some receivers **** at being a receiver, but might still have high ball carry and anti fumble abilities so that is a good conversion from WR to RB. Certain situations would be understandable.
I agree with Phaldun that WR's should not be used at RB unless the WR has officially switched position to RB. Using a WR at RB without officially changing their position is just an attempt at game manipulation (speed bias) which is contrary to the realistic football experience we are trying to promote here.
There are a number of MFN leagues that allow WR's to play the RB without officially changing positions citing the "Deebo Rule." However, when we look at real NFL statistics, we find that Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49'ers is actually an outlier "exception", not the "rule."
In the 2023 NFL season, there were only two WR's listed among the top 100 in yards rushing. Rondale Moore, WR playing for the Arizona Cardinals last year, rushed 28 times for 179 yards (ranking 93rd). At 5' 7" and 181#, Moore was running the ball only in "Jet Sweep" situations. At 6' 0" and 215#, Deebo Samuel rushed 37 times for 225 yards (ranking 79th).
Neither of these outlier examples compel a league that is trying to simulate a realistic football experience to change rules so that all WR's can function as RB's.
