In 4.4, long pass plays are much harder to come by than in 4.3, especially when trying to come from behind. But... it is still possible, not likely, but possible in 4.4 given the right play matchup.
Just lost a game in Paydirt where the opposing team was down to 4th down, 18 yds to go, and 43 seconds left. My Packer team had the lead at 27-21. Would have bet the farm and everything else that we had the game won at that point. My SS2 was then beaten on a go route by their WR7 for 84 yard, tackled him at the 2 yd line. We held for 3 downs then gave up the tying TD and then winning XP with time ran out. For either of us, it would have been a bad beat at that point, how cruel would it have been to pull of a "miracle" play only to not get the TD because you got caught from behind at the 2. Now, that is a tough beat to take my friends, lol. But, it shows that it can still be done in 4.4, cheers
Tip: based on my disastrous experience with that game finish, you may want to consider having a defensive rule for 4th down and 10+ yards. I highly recommend using your best non-blitzing Dime coverage play, :) Here's the "Seattle Miracle" play and the plays that were called:
Offensive Play: Singleback Normal WR Post
Defensive Play: Nickel Blitz Stunt Blitz - Pass Key
