The Marauders never found an answer for Venom’s pressure or its explosive offense in an 84-7 loss Saturday, a result that left Billings 2-7 and extended its losing streak to five games. The film tells a blunt story: Venom controlled the line of scrimmage, then punished the defense when it adjusted to the run.

Venom built a 21-0 first-quarter lead with three different looks at the end zone. Mitchel Tang opened the scoring with a four-yard run, Daniel Williams hit Kevin Hudson for a 55-yard touchdown on third-and-10, and Williams later found Steven Koski for an 18-yard score. Hudson’s long reception exposed the cost of losing leverage downfield; Venom needed only one completion to turn a third-and-long into six points.

The second quarter began with another breakdown in protection. Gordon Perez sacked Norman Calhoun in the end zone for a safety, and Carl Choquette returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. The sequence pushed the deficit to 30-0 before Billings’ offense could respond. Venom added three Nathan Meyer field goals, from 56, 49 and 31 yards, then Williams connected with Greg Bowden for a nine-yard touchdown just before halftime. The Marauders went to the break down 46-0.

Billings’ lone scoring drive came quickly after the second-half kickoff: Calhoun found Tommy Bush for a 72-yard touchdown, and Antonio Carson’s extra point made it 46-7. It was a sharp strike, but not the start of a sustained comeback. Hudson answered with a 35-yard touchdown catch, and Robert Helgeson’s sack of Calhoun produced a second safety. Williams and Hudson linked up again for a 28-yard score before the quarter ended.

Tang’s 57-yard touchdown run opened the fourth quarter, and Venom added two successful two-point conversions on rushing plays. Juan Rose scored from the one-yard line, while Meyer finished the scoring with field goals of 51 and 37 yards.

The team totals underline the mismatch. Venom amassed 571 yards—362 passing and 209 rushing—while the Marauders managed 134. Calhoun completed 6 of 29 passes for 116 yards, with one touchdown and one interception; Billings had just two rushing attempts. Venom was credited with 28 sacks, including eight by Robert Harper. Williams threw for 362 yards and five touchdowns, and Hudson finished with 200 receiving yards and three scores. The Marauders’ long touchdown showed the offense could hit a big play; the challenge was sustaining anything against a defense that repeatedly erased the pocket.
