Thought that might be the case, 43. With the defense using the 3 plays I figured it was pretty much on "automatic". It definitely works, especially combined with a killer pass rush.

The essentially 2 defensive play system is garbage and a short cut. Who knows how talented 4343 really is at the game.

I have less a problem with his scheme and the sacks generated because that I could control. You stream-line your offensive plays (avoid 2-1-2 Long Pass types for example) and cull your plays from what would put his player in on you for the sack.

The talent-less part of this comes with using those 2 defensive plays and only those for a no-risk, ball-less strategy. He pounds 'em all game and with each play your offensive familiarity goes more and more into the negative.

I'll come out of games at -67% like I did vs. another play which peeps haven't pounded yet (it's fresh in memory because it was within my last game sim cycle) or -75% like when Ray mashed Man OLB Flat Zone at me in the Champions League.

Personally, I think this 19-0 means nothing.

CJfred & raidergreg already have rules covering this exploit in their leagues. I believe jgcruz does as well.


We tried to get something going in USFL re: limited play calls but it was found too difficult to legislate. The way I look at it is this. We'll toss out there the following sets: 2 RB/3 WR, 2-1-2 and 1-1-3 sets. You can pound those 2 defensive plays but you need to take on risk. 2 total other defensive plays must appear vs. those sets.

Normal Defense: Those 2 defensive plays + 1 other defensive play. Some risk has to be assumed.

vs. 2-1-2, 1 other defensive play
vs. 2 RB/3 WR and 1-1-3, a 2nd different defensive play.

4 total. At least it puts out some risk....SOMETHING.

GDB isn't a victim in terms of he'll come with the most aggressive strategies and is one of the best but this goes to show you have to possess maxed out strategies to survive in title games due to bullsh*t like he faced here.

Shouldve seen it coming, but I didnt pay much attention prior to the game, didnt really look at all the indicators and I wouldve had a much better chance. Im surprised that I didnt see it when scouting, but I missed the 256lb killer sacker at DT, lol. It would be nice if JDB were able to eliminate the "exploits", but I know its no easy deal, especially being a one-man show. I'd like to see the game move more towards the coaches being more important and involved in the play selection/useage. The leagues with no gameplanning are not enjoyable, I recently tried one again. I'd like to see a full 40/30 play selection and set your preferences and then let the coaches make the calls. Its not near as enjoyable to see so much repetition and set play versus variety and unexpected results. It's still the best game for me, but could be so much better.

Yeah, it's a tough call. You have to play the game as it lays out because ultimately as you get to the Conference Final stage the GM on the other side of the ball is going to have maxed out strategies. (i.e. streaming 2-3 killer plays with the time ticking down to try and smash you with a go-ahead touchdown when down 6 or less points at the end of the 4th Quarter) You're basically gonna get endless HB Flares (for example) so you need to protect yourself. 1 example.

Perhaps there's a compromise in there because it's all very tricky with rules. 40/30 is forced so then one would have to carefully craft out their plays but you allow rules....

So what I'm saying is JDB forces 40 and 30 plays or it's red and invalid.

Any ways, 4343 does this sh*t in every league (the 2 defensive plays) and I think it masks his abilities. I don't think he's anywhere near you or I. It lacks incredible originality (zero percent, he cribbed it off Setherick) and proves nothing. I can run 2 defensive plays. Yay!!!!

Give me a break.

He is in other league's where this exploit is banned, so he knew exactly what he was doing.
