I appreciate the love here guys. Honestly I did not expect to repeat the title. Especially after CrazyRazor wiped the floor with my team late in the season winning 30-3. It was also a pleasant surprise to see the Phantoms turn it around and have such a great playoff run after some adjustments. Its not going to get any easier. Good luck to everyone this next season.
Congrats Phal, our LC game is a good one to learn from. There was a major difference in the time that both QBs had to throw, which led to Dragon QB Puddy throwing 4 ints. The sacks have been cut in half or more in the 4.5 game version, but it still pays to have a good pass rush to put pressure on the QB. And how important it is to have an OL that can offset a strong rush.
Another thing I will pass on to those taking the time to read the posts in this thread and forum, I cant be sure, but you know the old adage .... "if it aint broke, dont fix it", well, I probably overe-acted to the concern about my secondary and I moved by FS to CB2, he had the most speed of my secondary group. I also made changes in several other gameplan areas that did not help. So, I dont know how much that had to do with it, the first half was pretty good, then we got ripped in the second half. If I could go back to pre-game, the only thing I would have done is to do the scouting, set the defense, and minor changes to the gameplan. And not taking anything away from Phal's Phantoms, that is a strong, legit roster and was well gameplanned. When you lose, especially an LC game, at least for me, I try to review and figure out what went wrong, was there anything that I did that contributed to it and what I can learn from it. There's still the random factor, the "rolls", which you cant do anything about, which is what makes the game fun and not so predictable.
Grandpa makes a good point about the variables. You can ***** and moan about the game mechanics all you want, but if you still think like a coach, you can still have a high winning percentage.
