And before I get read the riot act, will explain my thinking in this deal. I know Montgomery is a top 5 pick. Looks to be a premier WR/RB with HoF pedigree possibility. However, I am, like a previous thread mentioned, pretty well set with a trio of solid upper tier backs. And already an elite wide out in Pflaff. And have them signed in multi year deals for the next few seasons.
So, I was looking more at the 3 1st round selections down the road. I keep patching my Def backfield season after season and in a premium league with so many seasoned owners, that is not a recipe for success. Too many teams could win this league as evidence by the constant rotation of league champs here in the EFL. And I am trying to look down the road and see not just what happens this season, but how can I help get the Wild better in the future. And giving up a star to maybe grab other stars in positions of more importance with multiple 1st rounders, kinda have to take that chance.
Plus it is a leg up on aj's end since it fills him a big hole. And we have always been fairly square on some previous deals.
So, I hope nobody calls "Pox" on this and the league doesn't cancel the deal. Thanx.
