My team did not reach the 20+/30 defensive play diversity goal in the final game of the regular season. Beginning in the 2nd quarter, my opponent called 50+ consecutive "Shotgun 5 Wide" pass plays which narrowed the range of defenses selected.

Oh at least your opponant didnt screw you over by using only 5 defensive plays and 20 offensive. I knew this would happen and this loss cost me the division title this season.

Great job kicking our butts out there Grayghost you little cheating *** wipe. Hey Grandpa, the diversity rules are interesting and challenging, when everyone does their part. But what do we do when other players dont even respond in the season threads and they only use 5 defensive plays and maybe 20 offensive? Its not like you can take their win and my loss away, and rearange the playoff brackets. So what do you do about it? Well, the first thing I would do is kick Grayghost *** out of the Elite League. Secondly, every single owner should be looking at the times called play calling of offense and defense for their last, 1, game. If your opponent shows that they only called 5 freaking defensive plays, and or , something similar on offense too, YOU GOTTA CALL THEM OUT! At midweek if your oppenents play calling looks shady, you call them out. Grandpa maybe you can issue 1 warning or something, but this **** is rediculous.

Offense: 30/40 - I did change my offense sliders a bit........not for the better it seems.
Defense: 24/30

When you scout the other team and you see that they have been not been in compliance with the play selection and diversity rule, then you are also free to go to the same level. Which is why its a good idea to have a gameplan saved that you can switch in and out. I also advise players to pm the other owner and let them know they are not in compliance based on your scouting. Other than that, the only recourse is to boot those who either dont want to or dont care whether or not they are in compliance. Fortunately we dont have more than one or two who are that far out of compliance.

With the 16 game regular season complete, here are my squad's play diversity statistics:

Offense: An average of 30.4 of 40 possible plays used per game. The most used play was called 45 times over the course of the 16 games, an average of 2.8 times per game. A total of 81 different offensive plays were used at least once. (I would like to get the average per game up to about 32 of 40 possible plays so I will look at how I can tweak the settings.

Defense: An average 23.4 of 30 possible plays used per game. The most used play was called 59 times over the course of the 16 games, an average of 3.7 times per game. (I didn't find the time to experiment expanding into additional defensive plays as I had hoped to. Hopefully, next season.)

I would think that a lot of the passing happened due to you being up by 24 points. I would think that that would be excusable for not meeting the diversity. I meant this for Viking_Fan. I would hope something is done about those that don't want to comply. This game is supposed to be fun and I do get that it is frustrating when facing those that don't comply to the diversity rules, especially with so much on the line. I would say at least give the owner one warning, then if nothing is done let them go to another league that doesn't want diversity.

Thanks, Gscorpio. Your comments are appreciated. I was focused too much on our diversity rules alone and not enough on the "game script" within the contest itself where I was in the lead. In thinking this over more broadly following your comments, I would say it is absolutely acceptable to have a pass only game "rule" when the score gets to a certain point. But I would also say, given our play diversity environment, that perhaps the pass only "rule" should include a variety of pass plays from several different formations so both offense and defense could potentially achieve the play diversity goal for the game.
