Interesting trade, Martinez has a very high trade meter of 2210, and his key attributes and overall rating (90 DT) are great, but .... so far, he has been one of those high raters that has not produced when you look at his career stats. Could be that he was used wrong, or defensive play calls, but when you compare him to the leagues current sack leader, LDE Peter Cora/Phantoms (72 default rating, only 47 pass rush!!) with a trade meter value of 172, it makes you wonder, dont it? Good luck to both on this trade, hope its a win/win. Also, the top DT atm for sacks is rookie Charles Burgess, a 4.2 pick by the Sharks, his default value is 60 !!! But, those two are exceptions, the rest of the top ten sack leaders are 80+ default values. Burgess is a good example of looking for the "key" attributes for a DL.

Well Grandad, you know for me this was a move to clear a little cap space and still get a good player. Now I have a little more space to extend some expiring contracts.

Martinez has also been pretty productive in racking up tackles. He has 5 in 2 games played this year, which is about the same pace that he put up 40 last season. That stat is what I look at more than anything atm.
