After reading some of the comments in the Name and Shame thread on the main forum, do folks want me to place an admin approval for signup condition on the league? The individual at the center of the discussion in that thread has already come and gone in this world already this season (and doesn't appear to have caused major damage to the Riptide roster really).

I'm not sure if requiring admin approval impacts the ability to fill a league or not, but figured I'd throw it out there and if folks want me to place a layer of protection on the league from just any random person joining up, I can do that. Let me know your desires folks.

It may not allways work, being safe wont hurt, anything to help leagues from being screwed!

I have found that the best new owners are the ones that pick up a team through invitation and by approval, I turned off the approval at the time because I was burned out on sending out invites, lol. But now, I agree that it should be put back in play. cheers

I am more in favor of the league having solid,steady, and competitive ownerships. I do not mean that should dissuade or eliminate any potential newcomers to the game or the EFL. I always want the game to foster and grow (kinda fond of this game, who knew?). But I don't enjoy seeing a team sabotaged or an owner in over his head from the lack of experience. I guess I would lean towards approval /invite . But I don't like seeing a league struggle along at half-empty status either. (I,like almost everyone here, hang on in some other leagues that muddle thru that).

As a sidenote, in reference to the Mt.Washington squad. I hate to see it abandoned. I know that team got "blown up" and in total rebuild mode. But it wasn't exactly a perennial powerhouse to start with
And with all the trade moves and FA signings and one draft under its belt, you can see the foundations of a solid core being built. I know it isn't glamorous or pretty, but I can see it was a work in progress from the previous management and would still be an interesting study with the right man at the helm. Just saying.

We could invite TheAdmiral to take it. He's fairly new, but he knows what he's about with rebuilding.

I think invitation only leagues have more appeal to good owners.

i just ahte how quick people give up on teams and thsi game. I personally love taking voer the qeakest team and turning them into play off contenders (even if thats all i achieve lol). I think it presents an even better challenge than alreqady given.

Thats the snap of the apple. Parlor City was absolutely dreadful when I took over. This is named Elite League for a reason. It is an honor to be here. Let newcomers earn there way here in other leagues. Pretty sure thats how I got here. I was invited.

Feel free to send invites out to anyone you guys feel will fit in and make this league better. Some/most of you have been playing this game longer than I have and the same goes for some/most of you probably being more social creatures than I am, lol.

Seriously though, if someone messages and says they were invited in by someone from the league, I'll open the door and let them through because I trust everyone here. I can also be bribed with lasagna, blueberry pie and fine tequila...
