The month of May was spent getting the website infrastructure ready for the beta preview of the new UI. And I'm thrilled to announce that the beta preview is ready! There are a couple of caveats that you will need to know before using the beta:

1. When you go to the new website, you will have to log in - it is using a different login mechanism than the legacy site.


2. At the top of all pages is a button to return to the legacy website. You will likely need to do this because...


3. ...not all features have been migrated to the new site. Chief among the missing interfaces is the draft war room - for now you will have to remain on the legacy site for the draft. Other, smaller features are also missing but should start to be added over the next few months.


4. There is some incompatibility between the two sites - namely, links in emails may not work if they were generated in one and you are visiting the other. Also, league chat and notifications will experience some incompatibilities if people are on different versions - i.e. chats submitted in the legacy site won't show up in real time in the preview site and vice versa.

I'm blocking off the month of June to deal with any issues that may arise because of this beta preview, so I don't anticipate any forward progress this month.

I also wanted to address the questions about the position change limitations. You will be able to see the limitations as you use the preview site. You can go back to the legacy site if those limitations are too restrictive. My plan at this time is to give the league admins the ability to map what positions can be migrated to which other positions; this is not yet implemented in the preview site. The game engine is not adhering to these limitations, so if you don't have a player available due to injury or an empty depth chart position, the engine will make the same selections it has been making.

Just as a note, I'm not seeing current positions listed in the player card anymore.

Will that fix cover everyone or just this one instance?

Just now finished watching a full game video replay in Beta. Unless my vision is suddenly and miraculously better, then it appears that the video is crisper. It is easier to see the numbers on the uniforms without having to magnify the screen too much. Overall, the UI in Beta has useful improvements. Good to see the progress that is being made.

Understanding that this is Beta, and only to report observations and not to critique, here are a few things that are pending to be updated. On the information bar at the top of the screen where Down / Distance, game score, game clock, quarter of play, and time outs remaining are displayed... in the game I watched, the quarter displayed as 1st quarter the entire game and time outs remained at three for each team even after time outs were used. There does not appear to be a drop down menu to select whether the play-by-play is shown overlaying the field of play or, alternately, below the field of play. Player attributes are different in Beta. A WR on one of my teams is 91 speed, 93 acceleration in the old version and 96 speed and 98 acceleration in Beta. Lastly, my squad had several fumbles but none were recorded in the boxscore in Beta but they did show properly in the boxscore in the old version.

It will fix everyone. I haven't fixed it yet, though.
