We had a problem during the divisional round sim where Dallas had the AI cut all its players except 2 and sign a bunch of players to minimum contracts. A new owner had just taken over the team and cut 6 players. During the next sim, he received a warning he was under the roster minimum and didnt have the cap space to sign any players to reach the minimum.
I have explained to the owner, after the fact that he could have offered a long term contract to a player or 2 with the goal of freeing up cap space but he wasnt aware of this at the time and took no action.
The owner is seeking a rollback of the sim but I believe it is unfair to the owners that won hard fought playoff games to advance to conference championship games that we had to do a do over and replay those games.
I want to do what's best for the owner in trouble but at the same time not destroy the integrity of the league.
I've asked all the owners not to make claims on the players the AI waived and have asked the owner to claim all his players back. I'm assuming the original owner would get the full contract back and not be hit with a hugh dead cap space for the cuts but I'm not 100% on that issue.
If he reclaims all his players and in fact still is hit with the dead cap number, is there any way to remove or void it for that owner.
I understand have the sims logic works but I dont believe it is fair to pay such a hugh price for a minor error on the owners fault. Is there anyway to address this issue in the future because this isnt the first time it has happened in other leagues
